Gokaigers will be in Megaforce!

I've already written about how Japan's 35th Anniversary Sentai series, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaigers, they had a group of Pirate Rangers that could transform into any of the previous Sentai teams. Well, that was two years ago that they celebrated their 35th Anniversary over in Japan.

Here, in the United States, we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers. We are celebrating with Power Rangers Megaforce based on the Tensou Sentai Goseigers, the 34th season of Super Sentai that came out immediately before the Gokaigers. So what's the big deal? Why did this need a dedicated post?

Well, Power Rangers is taking Japan's concept of being able to transform into any of the previous sentai and adpating it for their own Rangers. The first season will be adapated from Goseigers (Angels) and the second season will be adapted from Gokaigers (Pirates). I knew a full adaptation of Gokaigers (Pirates) was going to be impossible for us, but I guess I can see why they did it this way. They wouldn't be able to use all of the Sentai footage anyway. Overall, I have to say that I'm pretty excited about all this and can't wait to see how it all plays out in the end. I know if I was a kid, I would go crazy over something as epic as a team of Power Rangers that can transform into all the other Power Rangers before them.

Well, I have to say that I'm excited to see how this series plays out and I'm happy to see how much they're doing for the 20th Anniversary of the show in terms of merchandising. There's the ever elusive Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Power Morpher (Toys 'R' Us exclusive) and the 20th Anniversary release of the original Megazord. I grew up on Power Rangers and it's kinda cool to see all this stuff making a comeback. I get a real kick out of watching the original series with my nephew for the nostalgia but he LOVES the show too, especially the Dragonzord!!! In any case, Power Rangers Megaforce is on Hulu if you can't catch it on TV.

I hope this guy makes it into the show!!!

Here is just a short list of the DVD release schedule for 2013. Of course, this information is subject to change but at least is a helpful guide to upcoming releases. I'm a huge fan of wrestling documentaries, so you can bet that I'll picking a few of these up and probably reviewing them here. In fact, I might get around to reviewing all my other wrestling DVDs as well. Stay tuned!

I'm excited for this release! WCW War Games is one of the more interesting concepts for a PPV that I've ever seen in Pro Wrestling. I hope they include a great compilation of matches, this will definitely be on my shopping list.

Another one coming soon is the WWE In Your House compilation. Here is a quick peek at what the cover will look like. For you die hard wrestling fans, this is another piece of wrestling history you can add to the wall!

Upcoming Movie Trailers - 4/28/13

The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman is hitting US theaters on July 26, 2013. Wolverine in Japan? Why not! We all just want to see him tear things up with his claws anyway, this will be another opportunity for us to see him do so!

R.I.P.D. looks like the movie you get when you cross Men in Black with a Western and replace the aliens with ghosts. I liked MIB and Ghostbusters, so this should be interesting. Hitting theaters July 19, 2013.

Kick Ass 2 has a Red Band trailer out, which is equivalent to an R-rating on a movie. This one might not be for the kiddies, due to strong language. This movie looks pretty... well, kick ass! Hits theaters August 16, 2013.

Thor: The Dark World has a trailer out already. This sequel will be hitting US theaters on November 8, 2013. Looks very promising, I'm ready for another Thor movie! I hope these all come out fast so we can build up to the next Avengers movie sooner!
